Introduction

Update your information!
Ensure you have a current resume with details of contactable work references.
Let Edmen know if your skills and qualifications have changed so we can update your personal details on our database. We search on these skills and information when a vacancy arrives!

Stay in contact!
Don't wait for the call; we have lots of people on our applicant database! Make regular contact yourself so Edmen Consultants know you are available and will be first in their mind when a suitable job comes through.

Be contactable!
Edmen frequently has to fill temporary jobs at very short notice; if you can't be contacted easily then we will have to move on to someone else! Investing in a cheap mobile phone for receiving calls will enhance your job prospects and pay for itself.

Be prepared!
As some temp jobs are of a 'call out' nature, be prepared to go to work at short notice. Have your work clothes, tools, personal protection equipment (PPE) and transport ready.

Stay Flexible!
Keep an open mind as to the type and location of work you are prepared to do. Remember an increasing number of permanent jobs start as temporary positions and often the only way into some organisations start as a temporary employee. If you say, 'I'll do anything', then be prepared to do anything!
Invest in your own future! Time spent gaining or renewing qualifications and safety/site inductions will increase your employment prospects.
